Wedding Slush

Ingredients:

  • 4 C. water
  • 2 C. sugar
  • 1 envelope unflavored gelatin
  • 2 cups unsweetened pineapple juice
  • juice of 1 lemon
  • pinch of salt
  • 1-2 liter bottle of 7-Up or
    Gingerale


Preparation

Mix 1 cup water with 2 cups sugar; boil for 3 minutes. Dissolve 1 envelope unflavored gelatin in 1 teaspoon cool water. Add to hot syrup; dissolve. Add 3 cups cold water, pinch of salt, juice of 1 lemon and 2 cups unsweetened pineapple juice. Color as desired. Freeze in 1/2 gallon milk container. When ready to use, thaw slightly and add 1-2 liter bottle of 7-Up or gingerale. 1 container slush plus 1-2 liter 7-Up equals 22 (6-ounce) cups.
