Chocolate Macaroon Bars

Ingredients:

  • 1 18 1/2 pkg. chocolate cake mix
  • 1/3 C. butter, softened
  • 1 egg

TOPPING:

  • 1 C. chopped pecans
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1-14 oz. can sweetened condensed milk
  • 1-6 oz. pkg. (1 C.) semi-sweet morsels
  • 1 egg


Preparation

BASE: Preheat oven to 350°. In large bowl, combine cake mix, butter and egg; mix until crumbly. Press into greased 9"x13" pan.

TOPPING: In small bowl, combine sweetened condensed milk, vanilla and egg; beat until well blended. Stir in 1 cup coconut, pecans and morsels. Spread over base. Sprinkle remaining i/3 CUp coconut on top. Bakefor30 to40 minutes. Note: Center may appear loose, but will set upon cooling. Cool completely. Cut into 2" bars. Makes 24-2" bars.
