Slice yams 1/3" thick. Peel, core and thinly slice apples. In a saucepan, melt margarine; add cornstarch and brown sugar. Mix in lemon juice, hot apple juice, allspice and cinnamon. Continue to cook for 5 to 6 minutes. In a 3-quart casserole dish, alternate layers of sliced yams and apples. Sprinkle raisins over top. Pour over the hot apple juice mixture, cover and bake in preheated 375° oven for 1 hour 30 minutes. Serves 10 to 15. Great for holidays.
