Lance Richards has lived in the Valley since 1983, when he arrived as an engineering co-op student and was invited to visit VBC. He accepted Christ in 1980 as a student at the University of New Mexico. Though he'd always known about Jesus, it wasn't until a friend shared the gospel and continued meeting with him, that he understood what it meant to have a personal relationship with God.
Lance and his wife, Teresa, lead a growth group at Valley Bible. They've also served in the children's ministry and taught the Fundamentals of the Faith class at the church for several years. Lance also enjoyed a brief stint playing drums in the music ministry. Teresa is the director of VBC's Awana Sparks club.
Teresa and Lance have three daughters, Nicole, Kristyn and Shea. Their family life revolves around soccer, which the girls love.
